Starting

Entrepreneurs can go through life pursuing ideas. Ideas are worthless until it’s been put to paper, thrashed and tweaked before it is put to a working environment. It also matters that what you’re doing is with a group of people that is also passionate about your idea. You don’t get out of the comfort zone just because you want to. You only do it because of the belief you have for what you’re intending to do. And that is how TableFour.Us was born. It begin like all ideas, while chatting in a cafe. While sipping hot black coffee of the day that we decided that we should do this. We felt the time was right. We think there is maturity in the market that would allow this idea to flow. We think its ripe. And to begin, we’re betting on it with our own money.

Why

When we first embarked upon the idea of starting up TableFour.Us, 3 things came into our mind. First, whatever we decide to build, it has to be something that we’d really love to use and scratch our own itch. Second, whatever it is, it has to be something that people will want. It’s no good starting something that people may not want. The third is that it has to be disruptive. Disruptive in the sense that we’re going against the tide and in doing so, introducing a new way of doing things that may turn out to be easier, simpler and less expensive to the user. So to answer the question why? It’s because we think people will want it and that it’s simple and easy enough that people may be encouraged to use it rather than what they’re used to.

Inspiration

In starting TableFour.Us, we’ve been encouraged by the entrepreneurial spirit of people in Rovio, 6 Wunderkinder and 37signals to name a few. There are a host of examples out there of individuals coming together, forming a bond that has taken them from startup status to cult heroes. It’s still early days for TableFour.Us. We still have a lot to do. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and Spain finally won 2 major football trophies in 2008 and 2010 after years of disappointment. We’re in for the long haul.

Moving forward

Even before the product has finished, we’ve signed up 5 clients. No slides, no prototype. Just 5 minutes of their time and we explained to them how easy and painless it’ll be for them but at the same time, how helpful it will be. Thats a good sign. We hope we’re up to something good. Something disruptive and importantly, something that people will want. Right now the team is holed up finishing up lines of codes. We should be done and ready by the end of June, 2011.

Till then, good food drives us to the finishing line. Follow us and we’ll see you at the end ;D
